The Open University of Cyprus (http://www.ouc.ac.cy/) was established in 2001 as the second State Institution of Higher Education in Cyprus offering both undergraduate and graduate courses as well as training and vocational programs using the open and distance learning methodology. The University has three faculties (Pure and Applied Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Economics and Management), around 650 graduate and undergraduate students, and 50 academic and administrative personnel. The Pure and Applied Sciences faculty employs 2 full time faculty members and 10 part-time educational personnel. Although the School is relatively new, its faculty members are actively involved in fundamental research activities, National and European research programs such as CoreGrid, EGEE, SEARCHIN, Odyssey and others. The Master in Information Systems program provides students with the opportunity to acquire specialized knowledge in Information and Communication Technologies, preparing them for professional work in the design, development and management of integrated information systems. The program is targeted towards graduates and covers the design and development of programs and systems, the management and the quality of system development, and advanced issues in telecommunications and networking.
